Marc Dennis’ 2024 painting Superstar is a lush, hyper-realistic still life that seduces the eye with its opulent detail and unexpected twists. Known for his meticulous technique and playful engagement with Old Master traditions, Dennis riffs on the grandeur of a Dutch Golden Age bouquet. And so, among the flowers crawls a caterpillar, a praying mantis, and a constellation of iridescent bubbles — each refracting its own world, each a microcosm of shared wonders and the artist’s personal memories.
