Stranger by the Lake (Bare Ass Creek)

$25.00
Type: Puzzle

1000 piece puzzle featuring the artwork of Ken Gun Min.

Ken Gun Min’s paintings explore intimacy, masculinity, and representation across cultures, while employing a mixture of western-style oil paints, Korean pigments, embroidery, and beading on raw canvas. Often featuring nude and queer-coded men, his portraits and lush landscapes concoct fanciful idylls filled with longing, melancholy, and euphoria. Stranger by the Lake (Bare Ass Creek) is Min’s tribute to a once-popular LA nude sunbathing and trysting spot in Angeles National Forest that was ravaged by fire in 2009.

About the Artist

Ken Gun Min studied western painting and art history and theory at Hongik University in Seoul, Korea and received his MFA from the Academy of Art, University of San Francisco. He lives and works in Los Angeles, CA and has had solo exhibitions at SCAD Museum of Art, MCA Denver, and Nazarian/Curcio Gallery in LA.

Love this artwork!

I was drawn to the rich, vibrant colors and to the art style of this puzzle. It was medium difficult with the random cut pieces and so many different colors, but I enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend, but I feel that way about all the Kinstler puzzles I've completed so far. Please keep bringing modern art in puzzle form!

excellent puzzle!

This puzzle is challenging because of its repetitive color and brushstrokes. Such a generous image and unfolds slowly-just like the experience of sitting with a real Ken Gun Min painting! We had a great time with this puzzle!
